LCHC Teaching Center | Built Form Architecture The LCHC Teaching Clinic, designed by Built Form, is a new 32,000 SF healthcare and educational facility serving the North Lawndale Community in Chicago. Developed to expand accessible, high-quality medical care while supporting physician training, the center integrates patient-centered design with educational functionality. As a teaching facility, the center fosters learning and collaboration among resident physicians and staff. Dedicated workspaces, consultation rooms, and private lounges provide flexible areas for mentorship and education, supporting both individual and group learning while maintaining patient privacy. Flexibility and adaptability were key drivers in the planning process. The layout allows for future program growth and evolving clinical practices. Situated in a dense urban context, on a wide multi-laned street, the center reinforces its neighborhood presence with a pedestrian- friendly entrance, dynamic façades, and materials that communicate warmth and approachability. This integration enhances the streetscape and strengthens LCHC’s role as a community anchor. Through a careful balance of function, education, and community engagement, the LCHC Teaching Center exemplifies Built Form’s commitment to socially responsive architecture.
