NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes, LLC – New Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Providing patients with global access to game-changing radiopharmaceuticals focused on the detection and treatment of cancer, this leading biotechnology organization operates from a 55-acre research, development, and manufacturing campus in Beloit, Wisconsin. They have established themselves as pioneers in novel, domestic, and environmentally preferred radioisotope development and production. To advance the availability of their cancer treatment radiopharmaceuticals, the organization partnered with our firm to design and engineer a new 53,100-square-foot, state-of-the-art Radiopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO/CMO) facility. The building includes multiple CDMO and CMO cleanrooms, research and development laboratories, office space, and logistics areas. Each section is designed to support partner and collaborator companies in moving their products from research and development to commercialization. To meet an aggressive delivery schedule, the organization worked with a construction manager to bring this complex project to life. The design team and construction manager collaborated to release multiple bid packages, enabling construction to begin on certain project components while others were still being finalized. From initial engagement to project completion, this fast-track approach allowed the facility to become operational in just 18 months.
