The home’s location on a corner lot allows unobstructed views of the glass on the two primary facades, creating a lantern effect. The pattern here is wake, workout, work, and relax and entertain. It’s all about movement and spaces that work together to intuitively support how this homeowner wants to move through their day and continue in a state of reinvention and inspiration.
The design of this new, modern, right-sized residence supports the idea that home can be a place for reinvention. For this homeowner, a new vision for life -- as an upcoming empty nester who’s also a business owner, physically active and loves to entertain -- shaped the home’s three levels in very purposeful ways. The pattern here is wake, workout, work, and relax and entertain. It’s all about movement and spaces that work together to intuitively support how this homeowner wants to move through his day and continue in a state of reinvention and inspiration. Pattern of Life also plays out in materiality and aesthetic choices. The homeowner’s love of graphic design informed the configuration of the building blocks as a collection of volumes that read as individual volumes. Two dimensionally it’s a puzzle and three dimensionally the complementary materials -- soft beautiful walnut wood, hard and loud glass pieces, warm and fuzzy stucco, and a handsome color palette rooted in a deep, dark masculine blue – work brilliantly together for one enlightening vogue statement.
