Clovis Botanical Garden Visitor Center

The 2,425 SF Visitor Center consists of a 1,102 SF Community Meeting Room, an 836 SF Welcome Center, and an Office. Large butterfly roof overhangs extend in all directions over façades of glass and exposed natural surfaces of glass, metal, and concrete creating an inviting and open visitor center. The main entry is centrally located on the south side below the valley of the butterfly roof. Adjacent to the entry, visitors will be greeted by the cast metal garden logo floating in front of a 5' diameter circular window in a natural concrete wall. Entering through the low portion of the butterfly roof, the space expands outwards through the gift shop to the east and the community meeting room on the west, out to the surrounding botanical garden through the full-height glass walls. All glass walls extend to the underside of the eave creating a visual connection between the interior and the exterior. Between the Gift Shop and the Office, the opaque portion of this wall ends 3' below the ceiling and is fitted with glass above. This visually extends the Gift Shop to the adjacent Office. Towards the west of the entry is a Community Room. Three walls of the Community Room are glass with a 20’ operable window on the north side which opens up to the covered outdoor terraced area.
