Designed for a young family, this English-inspired home is both classic and modern, practical and playful, sustainable and stylish. Situated on a suburban lake, the home is nestled deep into the two-and-a-half-acre site for maximum privacy, and long views of the lake and an adjacent golf course. The exteriors are finished with a timeless palette of luxe natural materials while inside, the intimate, right-sized rooms reflect all the many facets of the family's life.
Situated on a secluded suburban lake, this new home could just as easily exist in the English countryside. The clients, a young couple with three children and two dogs, wanted their home to be both timeless and modern, practical and playful, sustainable and stylish. The architects nestled the home deep into the two-and-a-half-acre site for maximum privacy and long views of the lake and an adjacent golf course. Inside, the interiors include a series of intimate, right-sized rooms for all the many facets of the family’s active life—cooking, doing homework, working from home, creating art, playing music, working out and entertaining. Finished with a discreetly luxurious palette of natural materials, the house quietly reflects the family’s vision of home.
