Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport Terminal Expansion

This project consisted of the redesign, expansion, and remodel of several areas of the existing airport terminal of the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. The secured waiting and TSA areas needed both updating and expansion to allow for the increase in passenger traffic the airport had been experiencing for several years. The waiting area was expanded to allow for an additional 100 seats while the existing area was remodeled to include updated finishes and seating. The TSA area was relocated to allow for more updated equipment and provide a longer queue that didn't impede traffic in the main lobby. A more secure exit lane was provided, and the main lobby area received new seating, upgraded finishes, and new ticket counters. The baggage claim concourse was widened and a replica of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., complete with a scaled replica of the statue of Abraham Lincoln and engraved panels with Lincoln quotes, was added to give visitors an area to experience Lincoln while at the airport. The exterior courtyard in this same area received upgraded lighting and seating. The façade was updated to include two undulating roofs that readily identify the main terminal and baggage concourse and the exterior of the entire airport was given an update with new finishes/windows/signage and a cantilevered canopy that provides cover to departing and arriving passengers.
