The North Hall Academic Building is a 120,000 SF facility featuring advanced anatomy and neuroanatomy labs, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and diverse academic and administrative spaces. The building's striking bright orange metal panels and extensive glazing reflect the university's identity and commitment to holistic healthcare education, seamlessly blending academic and civic functions while promoting sustainability and community engagement.
The North Hall Academic Building is a 120,000 SF, four-story facility that seamlessly integrates with the campus, offering magnificent views of downtown. The building's design features a unique bright orange metal panel system, inspired by the patterns of human skin, and extensive glazing that invites curiosity about its interior functions. Inside, the building houses advanced laboratories and classrooms for Anatomy and Neuroanatomy, as well as offices for the Center for Rural Health, American Indians in Medicine and Science, and the Center for Health Systems Innovation. Additionally, it includes spaces for the Information Technology Department, conference rooms, clinical education, and administrative offices, including those of the president and provost. A notable feature is the state-of- the-art Medical Examiner’s Office, complete with autopsy laboratories and specialized equipment. This project exemplifies a blend of academic and civic functions, setting new standards for safety, workflow efficiency, and evidence preservation in postmortem diagnostics. North Hall is the first phase of a master plan focused on health, research, and education advancement, representing a significant collaboration between The University and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
