Confidential Technology Client Event Space

Within their existing headquarters building, our confidential technology client needed a nationally recognized meeting and events venue capable of servicing assemblies, keynote lectures, and company gatherings while still providing optimum working and conferencing spaces for the local team members. We designed a series of flexible working environments, ranging from single-user nooks to formal conference rooms, open collaboration spaces for up to 60 people, a large lecture hall, and pre-function/reception spaces...even a trendy Instagram photo-op moment welcoming visitors to Chicago. The design concept is heavily experiential, folding seamlessly into the other nine floors of the headquarters building: a distinctly regional approach, with each floor designed to reflect a unique yet well-known aspect of Chicago. Dubbed the Parks + Boulevards level, the design team employed soft, organic architecture that deftly guides users through the space as a wayfinding tool; custom backlit acoustical ceiling treatments that are reminiscent of the sun shining through tree cover; unvarnished and naturally finished woods, metals, old Chicago brick and concrete; and a natural color palette of lake-like blues, foliage greens and stone grays akin to those one would find while walking through one of our many Chicago Parks or along our stately boulevards. All this envelops a technology-forward, performance-based series of spaces designed for optimal user experience.
