Union High School Stadium Renovation and Expansion
Dewberry · Tulsa, OK
Overview
This project was the culmination of a campus-wide study of the school’s existing facilities and most pressing needs. Our team designed several improvements for the east side stands. The brand-new west-side structure includes two decks of seating, featuring chair-back seats, an open concourse featuring several amenities, and a 40-yard-wide press box with multiple luxury suites. The new 17,000 sf band building provides much-needed new space for the school’s highly regarded music programs.
The client’s request was straightforward: Design the best high school football stadium in the state. With seating for over 11,000, the stadium welcomes you with the Monument of Champions and an 8,500 SF concourse full of amenities. The stadium includes upper and lower deck seating, brand new LED field lighting luxury suites, coaching booths, a large in-stadium screen, a 7x60-yard-long section of turf in the training room, and a 40-yard-wide press box featuring NFL-caliber operable glazing for unobstructed views of the field. North of the end zone is the 17,000 SF band building that integrates arts and athletics while creating a rallying point for the renowned marching band at halftime. New LED field lighting, concrete enhancements, and cosmetic improvements comprised the renovations to the visitor’s side. An expanded weight room, locker rooms, coach’s offices, and a new space for the wrestling program were also included.
