Platinum Converting

The Project is a 207,575 SF tenant buildout in an existing spec industrial building for Platinum Converting. Since its founding in 1998, Platinum Converting has built itself up from a small, graphic arts finishing company, in a 15,000 square foot facility, to become a leading provider of high-quality finishing and converting services. Platinum Converting’s their new headquarters, located in the West Suburbs of Chicago, was designed to elevate their customer experience, and create a workplace where all employees, whether they work in an office or on the factory floor, feel like they are part of the same team and inspired to “finish strong”. The building features 17,000 SF of corporate office space where customers are greeted in a reception space bathed in natural light, illuminating a dynamic blue wall marking the entrance and leading the eye up to a mezzanine overlook where Platinum Converting’s state-of-the-art finishing equipment is on full display. The company’s trademark blue color is used throughout the office finishes, which tie the space together and identify important destinations. Alterations of the existing spec building includes the addition of clerestory windows that allow natural light to penetrate across the office space. At the employee lunchroom, existing precast was removed to accommodate tall sections of curtainwall, creating a large daylit space where the entire Platinum “Family” comes together for meals, collaboration, and celebrations.
